Amazon.com Review
Angled to fit a pie plate's sloped sides, thin and flexible enough to slip under a pie wedge without breaking the crust, this tool plates a piece of pie without spilling the cherries. Its shape makes it ideal for quiche and other wedge-shaped baked goods, and for turnovers and other pastries that are too hot to be lifted by hand. The blade has serrated edges for cutting wedges without relying on a knife. Oxo regularly wins design awards for its Good Grips utensils with their familiar black, processed-rubber handles that offer control wet or dry. Because this tool is meant to be used gently, its handle does not have Oxo's characteristic "fins," or side grooves, that flex under pressure. Nor is it oversized like most Good Grips handles. Instead, it tapers toward the end to fit snugly into your palm. I--Fred Brack/I
